About Rambo

WEIGHT: 60 lbs.
COAT: Long
COLOR: Black and White
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Companion

Rambo has found his forever family!

Rambo’s a big, gentle boy – #60 lbs and slightly overweight. He’s 2 years old, but he acts much more mature – he’s what I call – a “Gentle Ben” type of dog. He’s very sweet, kind, and gets along well with all people. In is previous home, he lived with three children that loved him. He did really well with kids, even when the toddler was crawling on him.

Rambo does well with other dogs, too, both male and female. He’s been an easy dog to foster – laid back, enjoys the air conditioning on these hot days, no accidents in the house and doesn’t chew things up.

Rambo does like his food!! He’s not aggressive w humans or kids messing in his food bowl. But doesn’t like other dogs eating his food. He does fine if his foster gives him a treat ( which he takes nicely) and her dog is sitting next to him and gives her a treat – switching back & forth.

Rambo is definitely a companion dog, nothing like most 2 year old energetic border collies. He likes hanging out with people, but will play some with other dogs. He has never had toys and so far hasn’t really responded to any of the toys in his foster home. He’s just a good ole boy – knows sit, down, and give paw. He can sleep loose or sleep in a crate. He’s fine with both.

In his previous home, he didn’t have a fenced yard, but was supervised when he was outside. He stayed with them and listened well.

With his previous owner, Rambo rode loose in a car – he just lays down in the seat. (We recommend that dogs either be in a dog seatbelt or a crate.) He’s neutered, house broken, up to date on shots and has been dewormed. He did test positive for lyme back in November and he was treated with doxycycline.

Rambo is not truly a perfect dog – he does like to ‘gently’ jump on people for some loving. And he does have the long hair of an Aussie – so he will need to be brushed. He does like being brushed!

If you are the perfect forever home for Rambo, please fill out an application and contact his foster parents at sylviaspets@aol.com. BRBCR’s approval process includes phone interviews, reference checks, and a home visit prior to meeting a foster dog. Approved applicants must meet at the foster dog’s location. Every adoption begins with a 2-week trial period.

Rambo’s adoption fee is $300.
