Topaz

Meet Topaz! He is an 8-week-old BC/Kelpie mix, born on Valentines Day 2024; a puppy from the “gemstones” of another BRBCR foster dog, Diamond. Topaz is a handsome puppy that loves being with his people! In his foster home he has been hanging out with one of his brothers and three adult Border Collies. He is very sweet and loves everyone he meets!

Topaz comes when he is called, loves playing with his toys, and is very fond of dog beds. He is learning to be respectful of the cats in the house. Topaz is doing quite well with his house and crate training, voluntarily going into his crate for naps; he will need an adopted dedicated to continuing his training. Topaz is very smart and quite food motivated, making training a breeze! Topaz would benefit from having a good-natured dog as a mentor as he grows up. A basic puppy class would be beneficial, and his ideal adopter should have some training experience.

If you are interested in adopting Topaz, please fill out an application. BRBCR’s approval process includes phone interviews, reference checks, and a home visit prior to meeting a foster dog. Approved applicants must meet at the foster dog’s location. Every adoption begins with a 2-week trial period.

Topaz’s adoption fee is $300. Since he is too young to be altered at this time, the Adoption Contract will include a Spay/Neuter Agreement which requires a deposit of $150 (to be refunded when veterinary proof of alteration has been provided).
