Meet Stella!
Meet Estella (or Stella for you Marlon Brando fans). She is a bundle of joy and eagerness for all things physical — if moving were a sport, she’d already have a gold medal in happiness. Stella is always ready to play whether it’s carrying toys and tossing them in the air or inviting you for a round of tug. If you’re not ready for action, you might end up with a bored companion. But on the flip side, her secret talent is counting sheep – she’s a pro at power naps.
Stella is basically the clingy best friend you never knew you needed — and she’ll never leave your side. Privacy? What’s that? She is your personal entourage, 24/7. In the kitchen? She’s your sous-chef. In the bathroom? She’s your “bathroom buddy” (even though you never asked for one). She’s loyal to the point where you’ll start wondering if she secretly has a tracker on you.
As for socializing, Stella is friendly… but selectively friendly. She’s prefers to be cautious, observing, and taking her sweet time to warm up to new people and pets. So, if you want to introduce her to new faces or experiences, be gentle. Patience is key! And if you love long walks and outdoor exploration, Stella will happily keep pace with you. Best of all, if you appreciate a cuddly dog, look no further. Stella is especially skilled at giving hugs. Cuddly companionship is her middle name.
Stella was surrendered by her previous owners. She is house trained, crate trained, travels like a pro in the car and overall, well-mannered both indoors and outdoors. She is a master on the art of leash walking! She missed early socialization and will greatly benefit with ongoing experiences to new people and environments. Stella is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations.
Stella possesses some of the typical Border Collie herding instincts and behaviors and would be more compatible with an experienced owner who can provide her with ample mental and physical stimulation and training. When indoors, she can experience a heightened sensitivity to certain everyday sounds, such as the clattering from a busy kitchen, which can spark excitement or, in some cases, cause a bit of anxiety. Knowing about this special trait, a seasoned Border Collie owner can create a calm and enjoyable environment for this incredible dog.
Stella was just spayed and will be ready to go to her forever home after 10/10/2025!
If you are the perfect forever home for Stella, please fill out an application and contact her foster parents at liz.moultrie@gmail.com. Every adoption begins with a 2-week trial period.
Stella’s adoption fee is $350.
