About Susie

WEIGHT: 39lbs
COAT: Smooth Coat
COLOR: Black and White
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Active Companion

Meet Susie!

This active senior girl lost her home through no fault of her own. She was a daddy’s girl, but sadly her daddy passed away 4 years ago. Her handicapped mom did her best to care for her until she fell and had to go to a rehab facility. Susie was left in a rental property with only the construction workers who were remodeling the house to take care of her.

Susie has made huge progress in her foster home, readjusting well to a more active lifestyle. Her leash manners are good, and she is well behaved on her outings. She seems to sense people who need her and has approached and sat quietly next to handicapped people that she has met to have her ears scratched.

She has always had a fenced yard and definitely enjoys her outside time in her foster home. Running the adjoining fence line is her favorite hobby! Running exercise is very important for her so a fenced yard is required.

Susie basically ignores other dogs when she can. She gets very territorial with the other dogs in the house so needs to be an only dog. She hasn’t shown much interest in the cats so probably would do fine with a dog savvy cat. Her reaction around young children is unknown. She probably will ignore them also if they leave her alone. This girl is well suited for an active senior home!

If you are the perfect forever home for Susie, please fill out an application and contact her foster parents at karinmaida@aol.com. BRBCR’s approval process includes phone interviews, reference checks, and a home visit prior to meeting a foster dog. Approved applicants must meet at the foster dog’s location. Every adoption begins with a 2-week trial period.

Susie’s adoption fee is $300.
