Meet Onyx!
Onyx is a sweet little lass – she gets along with everyone (dogs, cats, humans, tiny humans – she grew up in a household with two small children), is house-trained, does what’s asked of her, is the polar opposite of aggressive, crates well (including just walking in the open crate and settling down for a nap) though she’d definitely prefer to snuggle with people (her former owner described her as a “snuggle bug” and she is used to sleeping with her former owner and being on furniture, though she is currently sleeping in a crate overnight). She was an owner surrender by a single mom who just had too much going on and wanted a better life for her. She originally came from a Mennonite farm in Virginia.
She has the cutest speckled paws and white tip on her fluffy tail, and that tail wags very easily when you come in the room or leash her up. She has a habit of napping flat on her back with all four paws extended up in the air, which is pretty funny but also probably designed to get those belly scratches she loves. You can tell she was loved, and that she would love a new family devotedly. She’s a happy girl, with no noticeable traumas. Right now, she’s more of a companion dog, but I really think she’d jump at the chance for more. She likes to chase a ball, responds to basic commands, and is eager to learn more and does so quickly. She’s got a smooth coat, kind of a fluffy Chow-esque tail that curls over toward her back, and clocked in at 44lbs. She is really just a beautiful dog, inside and out. Anybody would be lucky to have an Onyx in their life.
