Meet Korby!
Korby has a big dog personality in a small dog body! He has never met a stranger and greets everyone with happiness and wiggles. He is good with dogs and is learning about cats. He would like to play with cats (they are about the same size), but they prefer to keep their distance. Korby is a very busy puppy and loves to play with his toys or a tolerant dog. In fact, he is so persistent in his play that any new dog friend may not appreciate his playful persistence and dog-dog interactions should be monitored. You should also be prepared for a toy to be shoved in your lap again and again. He also enjoys multiple long walks throughout the day. Once he has his energy needs met, he can be a cuddlebug – napping with you in the afternoon or sitting on your lap for nighttime TV viewing.
Korby is working on housetraining. I would consider him about 75-80% housetrained, but if you are consistent with outside trips, he does not have accidents in the house. He crates well at night, and also rides well in a crate in the car.
Korby is looking for a home that will spoil this energetic, sweet boy with lots of walks and toy play and attention. I think he would also enjoy training for tricks or obedience or nosework or rally. Agility may be a bit much for him because he does have luxating patellas, but he very infrequently shows any sign. We have consulted a rehab vet and the advice is that he can enjoy a healthy life if kept lean and muscular.
If you are the perfect forever home for Korby, please fill out an application and contact his foster parents at jklrsn@gmail.com. BRBCR’s approval process includes phone interviews, reference checks, and a home visit prior to meeting a foster dog. Approved applicants must meet at the foster dog’s location. Every adoption begins with a 2-week trial period.
Korby’s adoption fee is $300.
