Meet Freckles!

Freckles is a handsome, 6 year old, border collie that’s looking for a special home! Freckles was surrendered to BRBCR due to not doing well with one of the kids in his home; he was fine with everyone else. 

Freckles’ foster jokingly states that she’s hoping a vampire will adopt this quirky guy! He prefers quiet, darker areas – his favorite place to hang out is in the dark basement – and he prefers a cloudy day over a sunny one. We warned you he’s quirky! Freckles has really enjoyed running around with his female, foster sisters; he loves to play chase games! We’re unsure how he’d do with a male dog but a fun, female dog would be a great fit! He is wonderful with cats, too. Sometimes he will chase a ball and he really enjoys supervising his foster while she mows. 

Freckles knows sit, is working on recall, wait at the door, and he does alright on leash. He is crate and house trained, too. He isn’t too food motivated and doesn’t seem to have had much training in his younger years. Freckles will only go to a home with a fenced-in yard and absolutely NO kids! Since he didn’t have a great experience with one we want to set him up for success and not put him in a home where kids will be around.  

The best situation for Freckles would be a quiet home with a single person or couple that has no kids and lives in a more rural area. The home should be low-trafficked, too. People that are dog-savvy and can accept Freckles for all of his quirks would be the best fit!

BRBCR’s approval process includes phone interviews, reference checks, and a home visit prior to meeting a foster dog. Approved applicants must meet at the foster dog’s location. Every adoption begins with a 2-week trial period.

Freckles’s adoption fee is $350.
