Meet Dottie!
Looking for a dog who will love you with her whole heart? Look no further. Dottie is a truly special soul—affectionate, loyal, and so eager to connect. She will roll over in front of her crate every morning, eager for a snuggle despite knowing breakfast is waiting. Her love is sincere and constant.
This sweetheart is doing incredibly well in her foster home. Dottie is house trained, having had no accidents. She does well with the other dog in the house but tends to be more interested in people. She is naturally an alpha but takes correction immediately should she steal a toy from her passive foster brother. She’s incredibly in tune with her people, waiting calmly at the door if you are on the other side, and quick to respond to any gentle correction—she just wants to please and is an amazingly fast learner.
Dottie’s progressing wonderfully with her leash training (full disclosure, maybe some work still needs to be done with squirrels). Like many dogs she showed some leash reactivity toward other dogs initially but has made excellent strides with consistent work and the right training tools. She now is able to walk past other dogs calmly when guided appropriately. She loves her daily walks and training exercises.
Crate-trained and content, Dottie sleeps quietly through the night beside the bed and enjoys having her own cozy space. She’s calm in the car and has a growing fan base in the neighborhood thanks to her sweet, people loving demeanor. She can be a little shy around men when she first meets them but quickly warms up with some loving.
Dottie will do best with an experienced dog handler, someone who can continue setting her up for success and build on the great foundation she already has.
She’s scheduled to be spayed on July 22nd and will be ready to join her forever home soon after!
