Meet Bootsy!
Say hi to Bootsy, a Border Collie mix who has been spayed, microchipped, is up to date on immunizations and weighs about 43 pounds. A quick learner, she mastered the doggie door the first day here. She has also earned full run of the house privileges after being taught that outside and potty go hand in hand. She is not an overtly vocal dog but will bark when someone enters the driveway or when our neighbors go to the mailbox with their dogs. Deer in the yard also elicit barking (from all of the dogs).
Update!
Bootsy started out somewhat skittish, and would not come when called individually, but she would come in with the pack when the doggie door was opened. Now she comes when called. She also runs with the pack when I give them the “outside” cue. At first, her preference was to be outside, but now she seems to be warming up to being in the house. She is very affectionate and is the first dog up the stairs each day to say good morning. Bootsy has even earned the nickname Jealous Bootsy because if any dog gets attention she tries to push them out of the way so she gets all the lovin’. She sleeps in her crate downstairs at night and that’s her go to space when she is in the house, but she does not like the door to be closed. Bootsy will do her best to evade other actions to confine her to a small space as well.
She gets along well with my three dogs, but it takes her a while to get comfortable around a new person. It takes a couple of visits from a new person before she will introduce herself
If you are the perfect forever home for Bootsy, please fill out an application and contact her foster parents at curt@curtharvey.com. BRBCR’s approval process includes phone interviews, reference checks, and a home visit prior to meeting a foster dog. Approved applicants must meet at the foster dog’s location. Every adoption begins with a 2-week trial period.
Bootsy’s adoption fee is $300.
