Keel is a sweet, healthy senior citizen who had to be rehomed when his owner went into an assisted living facility.
Keel is very easy to live with. He sleeps in a crate at night and spends his days in a large run or a fenced yard.
Prior to coming to his foster home, Keel had never been inside of a house. Steps were very scary at first! He now negotiates them slowly, but without fear.
A year ago, Keel was diagnosed positive for heartworms. He underwent "slow treatment" and recently tested negative. He sailed through a major dental procedure and was neutered.
Keel walks nicely on a leash. He gets along with his foster mom's dogs, the cats, and the chickens. He does require a fenced in yard. He may have some hearing loss. He would not do well with small children.
He likes being petted and brushed.
To start the adoption process, please fill out our application and contact Keel's mom, Kay, at firstname.lastname@example.org. All potential adopters are required to have a home visit prior to placement of one of our rescues, and we offer a two-week trial period when you adopt one of our dogs.
Thank you for considering a rescue!
