This sweet, sensitive boy is looking for a home where he can finally feel secure. Boots is an owner-surrender who spent the first year or so of his life running loose in the woods. He eventually was taken in by a very nice family but had trouble adjusting to a busy household with five children. Because of his early background he will need a home with a fenced yard.
Boots is friendly to everyone he meets but is a bit on the shy side so needs time to get to know new people. He probably would be fine with teenagers but is a little bit nervous around younger kids. Restrictive physical contact such as hugging makes him uncomfortable, he will need a home where everyone understands this.
He has generally gotten along well with the other dogs in his foster home. He can get too rough when he's overly excited though and probably will do best as an only dog in the household. He's been fine with the cats and other animals.
He's learning to play with toys and is very food motivated. Boots is crate trained, obedience trained and does well in the car. His household manners are good. He's very eager to please!
If you have the time and patience to help this boy feel secure he will reward you with all of his love and affection!
