Midnight is a beautiful bundle of endless energy who plays hard! She loves her stuffed animals and squeaky toys, and loves to run and go for walks. She needs a fenced yard (a physical fence is required) which is a must to burn up energy, especially the first thing in the morning. She knows how to entertain herself in the yard.
Midnight is very friendly, loyal, and loves attention, being petted, etc. She is sometimes slow to warm up to other people – she sizes up people on her terms and is cautious. Once she decides the other person is ok, she is very friendly. She sometimes gets amped up passing other dogs while out walking, and occasionally at a passing vehicle, but is getting better with that in her foster home.
Midnight is a work in progress on leash manners but is getting better and better with that. She is not a barker but will bark occasionally in the yard if she sees something unusual. She will respond to "Midnight, no barking". She will look to see if someone is watching from the house after a bark or two. She will stop barking with taps on a window or a verbal "Midnight, no barking".
Midnight has been in her foster home since August 15. She is crate trained, spayed, and has an ID chip. She is heart worm negative and up to date on all vaccinations. She sleeps in the foster's bedroom at night and is good for the entire night. She is fine with the foster's 18-year old house cat and their 9-year old Border Collie. The two dogs will play, however there is a big difference in energy levels between the two. She does not have herding instincts.
Midnight's foster parents will only place her in a home where the owner is around most of the time – not a home where the people are gone for several hours during the day. Due to her excessive energy, she will also only be placed in a home without small children. Midnight needs a home where the owners are physically active and will get her out for some good walks a couple times a day, or more.
