Border Collie
Age: 1 + years
Gender: Female
Coat: Smooth - easy to care for coat
Location of Foster home: Appomattox, VA
UPDATE: Mia is becoming a respectable canine citizen. She's still an
in-your-face pest to her dog pals, but I think that's just her nature.
She loves to join in the mad dog race laps around the house & will mow
down anyone & anything that gets in her path! She was especially fond of
Conner, who was just adopted. She's going to miss him a lot! She has
full yard priveleges & does not wander off or bother the cats or
chickens.
When she comes in to the house to eat her food, she waits for permission
& does not try to eat the other dogs' food. I usually feed 4-5 at a time
in my kitchen. She goes straight to her crate when it's bedtime & into
her outside run when told (well, maybe a little reluctantly) She has
been very good during her brief supervised house privelege times.
All she needs now is that perfect forever home to apply for her!
Meet Mia!!!
Mia is a sweet, young (1+) smooth-coated Border Collie mix. She's delightful and amusing, plus a beautiful girl. She has that sweet face. You can just look at her and tell she's a wonderful temperament girl.
We don't know how she ended up at the pound. But she was pregnant. Poor girl had her pups there at the shelter. Mia was only a puppy herself. Mia still acts very puppy-ish herself.
Mia LOVES attention & affection. Her favorite thing is to run and wrestle
with her new canine buddies at her foster home. Mia believes in doing
everything at top speed! She comes flying when called...and needs to be
reminded to sit, since she comes with such enthusiasm.
She is learning to wait when let out of her crate or run, and to walk on
a leash although she doesn't need a leash on the farm where she's being fostered.
Mia's a smart girl and learns quickly. She could be taught to do anything and she'd just want to learn more. With love and training, this dog will be your perfect companion - your best friend. She would love an an active owner who is who is willing to work with her. She promises to reward your
efforts with love, happiness, and LOTS of kisses!
