Ross is a young (about a year old), sweet, happy boy that was dumped at a mountain overlook with 2 cats. The 2 cats were his buds!! Luckily, he hadn't been there too long as he was fairly easy to catch. He's uneasy around new things as it's doubtful that he was exposed to very much at his previous home. He must have been an outside dog and not had a lot of attention. He slinks up to people, in a submissive way, to be petted. He wants to please you and be petted.
Ross has been fine with other dogs, but he really wants a buddy to play chase with him. He bounces into other dogs when he plays. The older dogs tell him off, so he goes to look for another dog to play with or chases from a distance. He has a gentle nature about him, but he's still at that bouncy puppy stage in life.
Ross is 44 lbs now, he'll probably be a 50 lb dog when he fills out. He's a strong boy that definitely needs leash walking lessons and some manners taught to him. He is food motivated, which will help with this training. He would love a fenced yard to exercise. He is staying in a 10 x 10 kennel right now until a foster home or permanent home can be found. He loves his kennel. He will go romp around his fenced in area, then go back to his kennel to rest and hang out.
Ross is learning about toys. He seems to be interested in all of them, but the frisbee seems to be his favorite.
Ross is now neutered, heartworm checked negative, up to date on shots, tested negative for worms, on flea & tick preventative and been started on heartworm prevention.
To start the adoption process, please fill out an application and then contact Ross's foster parent, Sylvia at Sylviaspets@aol.com. All potential adopters are required to have a home visit prior to placement of one of our rescues. Ross's adoption fee is $300, and we offer a two-week trial period when you adopt one of our dogs.
Thank you for considering a rescue!
