Ross just had his 1st birthday celebration! He loved getting more toys! He can be very silly with his toys... tossing them up in the air and rolling on top of them.
Ross is a sweet, happy, loving boy. He's very submissive when first meeting him - he was dumped at a mountain overlook with 2 cats and rather scared when he was found. The 2 cats were his buds!! Luckily, he hadn't been there too long as he was fairly easy to catch. He's uneasy around new things at first as it's doubtful that he was exposed to very much at his previous home. He must have been an outside dog and not had a lot of attention. He slinks up to new people in a submissive way, to be petted. He can get overwhelmed if there are too many people introduced at one time. He definitely wants to please you and loves to be touched and be petted. Ross has been fine with the dogs here at his foster home. He has a gentle nature about him, but he's young and still in that bouncy, energetic teenage stage in life. He has been around a young child and he was gentle with her. He would put his head in her lap and want to be petted.
Ross is now 45 lbs. He's a strong boy and needs additional leash walking training. He is learning some manners, but will need more polishing in his new home. He is very food motivated, which will help with this training. He has a fast sit - toss a dog biscuit in the air and he is catching it 60% of the time. He'll only get better with practice. He would love a fence yard to play in with lots of toys and a few bones to keep him entertained when he's by himself.
Ross comes inside at night and is fed in his crate. He's quiet and sleeps thru the night. Ross is housebroken and will let you know when he has to go outside. Ross needs a home with a fenced yard. He has lots of energy in the mornings he needs to run off.
Ross is now neutered, heartworm checked negative, up to date on shots, tested negative for worms, on flea & tick preventative and been started on heartworm prevention.
