This little girl is sweet, smart, and very athletic. She has a fairly high energy level and wants to learn. She is very biddable - meaning, she wants to please you. She loves her toys (especially a ball) and is food motivated. She does have a soft temperament, so she doesn't respond well to a harsh tone of voice. She is a fast learner and could be a great agility dog or competition dog for a kind person. She is quick on her feet and has the athleticism to do well in sports.
Maeve has always lived in the house. She's busy when there are other dogs around - she's always wanting to play. She's house trained, and crate trained. She settles nicely when she goes in her crate. She was raised around children until 10 weeks old and liked them, but has not been around children recently. Maeve has been living with other female dogs in her prior home and gets along well with male and female dogs at her foster home. She is not good with cats.
Maeve has been well socialized and traveled to a variety of places. She does well in a car and adjusts well to new places. She's a smart girl. She knows sit, lie down, and has a good recall. She's not afraid of things and is fine walking on unusual surfaces. A good agility prospect!!! She is good off leash and comes when called when walked around the farm. She may like to swim. She will go in streams, but has not been to any locations with deeper water.
Parents were competing in USBCHA herding trials. Maeve has no herding training. Her hips tested good and she has no known health issues.
These pictures of Maeve were taken when she was younger, updated pictures to come soon!!
Maeve is spayed, up to date on shots, on flea and tick preventive and on monthly heartworm prevention.
All potential adopters are required to have a home visit prior to placement of one of our rescues. Maeve's adoption fee is $300, and we offer a two-week trial period when you adopt one of our dogs.
