This pretty girl is the color of dark chocolate with white chocolate highlights! And she's just as sweet as a rich chocolate bar!! Her coat is very smooth and her temperament is dreamy - sweet, gentle and loving. She loves everyone she meets with a wagging body and plenty of kisses - men, women, and loves children. She was raised with children. She loves all the dogs she has met here on the farm, big and small, young and old. She rides nice in a car and is learning about manners in the house. I can't say enough nice things about this young girlie.
Paige is 9 months old and was found as a stray in Southern Virginia. We contacted her owner and learned that her mother was a pure border collie and her father was a redbone coonhound. Coonhounds have a excellent traits -- affectionate, companionable, friendly, kind-hearted, and extremely good with children. Coonhounds are not a high strung, fussy, or clingy breed. Paige is a beautiful girl that takes more after her father, the coonhound, in temperament. She doesn't try to herd the other dogs or nip at kids when they run like alot of border collies tend to do.
Paige hasn't had any formal training, but she's a smart girl. She's fairly laid back compared to most 9 month old dogs. She does need to learn to walk on a leash. She does like treats, so training her should be easy and fun.
Since Paige was a stray, we require that she go to a home with a fenced yard. She likes to go checking trees for squirrels.
Paige is learning about crate training and should be easy to housebreak. She seems very comfortable in the house and is not afraid of anything ..i.e. she's good on the hardwood floors, good with different noises..washer dryer, dishwasher, vacuum, etc.., good about not jumping on the counter when there is food on it - she'll make a wonderful house dog. She did bark the first couple of days here at her foster home when she was left alone. She's been good when she's with other dogs or people.
Paige has been thoroughly vet checked. She is spayed, up to date on shots, Heartworm & Tick disease tested negative, has been dewormed, and is on heartworm preventative and flea & tick preventative. Paige is now ready to go to her new home.
All potential adopters are required to have a home visit prior to placement of one of our rescues. Paige's adoption fee is $300, and we offer a two-week trial period when you adopt one of our dogs.
Thank you for considering a rescue!
