This sweet, affectionate lady is looking for a home that LOVES cuddles! She's always seeking out head scratches and loves laying down on the couch with her humans.
She loves her toys and is constantly chewing and squeaking something in the house. Outdoors she loves to play fetch but is a little out of shape, so a long game leads to a long nap! She also walks well on the leash, without much pulling, but gets distracted by all the fun new things to sniff. She's very much a "stop to smell the roses" kind of girl.
Rosie was rescued from an older couple who didn't have the energy to properly care for her. For much of her life she was kept in the yard on a chain, and so she is still getting used to being in a home. While she isn't ever destructive, and is mostly potty trained, she does have the occasional accident in the house. She is still learning that tables aren't for paws, but is a pretty good listener. She does well in the crate at night, and may bark and whine for the first few minutes, but soon settles until you're ready to wake up in the morning.
Rosie is fully vetted, up to date on heartworm maintenance, flea and tick treatment and spayed. She would benefit from an obedience class. She is not aggressive with, but doesn't care much for, other dogs or cats. She has shown some jealousy over food, toys and attention, so she may do best as an only dog. She has not been tested around children.
To start the adoption process, please fill out an application and then contact her foster mom, Shari at email@example.com. All potential adopters are required to have a home visit prior to placement of one of our rescues. Rosie's adoption fee is $300, and we offer a two-week trial period when you adopt one of our dogs.
Thank you for considering a rescue!
