Baci's mother is a purebred red & white Border Collie. We were told that her father is a Husky.
Baci is very sweet and loving. She is great with other dogs, and especially enjoys playing chase, tug, and wrestling with Coal, one of her foster mom's Border Collies. She would LOVE a playful doggie brother to romp with! She might be a bit too much for an older dog or a small breed.
We have been told that she loves kids.
She is good with the cats inside, but has to be reminded not to chase them when they are outside, especially if they run. She is learning that the chickens are off limits. Baci has a strong prey drive and needs proper supervision around them. She also becomes quite excited at the sight of the resident sheep running.
Baci walks reasonably well on leash and knows some basic commands such as "sit". She willingly goes into her crate and sleeps quietly in it all night. Her recall is a work in progress. She requires a home with a fenced in yard. A basic obedience class would be a very good idea for her. She is very smart.
Baci would do best with someone with some training experience. She is not a good choice for an inexperienced novice dog owner.
To start the adoption process, please fill out an application and then contact her foster mom, Kay at FaithandQuest@earthlink.net. All potential adopters are required to have a home visit prior to placement of one of our rescues. Baci's adoption fee is $300, and we offer a two-week trial period when you adopt one of our dogs.
Thank you for considering a rescue!
