Ivan is a very sweet and friendly puppy. He is one of a litter of four that was born in April 2017. Ivan loves every person that he meets, and has been very socialized for a puppy his age! Ivan and his three other siblings were left at a shelter overnight, so his parents are not known, but he is thought to be a Border Collie mix.
Ivan is more submissive than his sister, Lily, who is being fostered in the same foster home. He is also submissive to his two foster siblings and respects their personal space, but has no problem playing with them, especially if they initiate play. His foster mom, Lindsey, is working on commands and house training. He is crate trained already, and will happily go into his crate at night and when his foster mom has to leave the house. After the first night in the foster home, he didn't even cry in his crate before bedtime! He is definitely comfortable being in a crate at night and during the day. He also listens very well and follows the pack!
Ivan would make a wonderful family dog, and would also be a great hiking and adventure companion. He should grow into a typical high energy Border Collie mix who needs his forever family to give him plenty of exercise and training. He loves people and would do very will with a family. He has not been cat trained as of yet, but I would believe that he would do very well in a home with dog-friendly cats.
Ivan and his siblings were positive for parvo, but they are now in recovery! Ivan is a healthy puppy who has passed the four week recovery mark and is parvo-free!
To start the adoption process, please fill out an application and then contact Lindsey Diamond at email@example.com. All potential adopters are required to have a home inspection prior to placement of one of our rescues. The BRBCR adoption fee is $300, and we offer a 2-week trial period. Ivan is too young to be neutered at this time, so we will require a spay/neuter deposit of $150 (refundable upon veterinary proof of neuter).
Thank you for considering a rescue!
