Ruby is a fun-loving young girl who would love to share her joy in life with you. She looks like a Shepherd/Lab (or maybe Golden Retriever) mix, but she's smaller than either. She might have a little Border Collie in her. Whatever her breed, she's a real sweetheart.
She loves people and most dogs. She would do best with older children and very easy-going or submissive male dogs. She's fine with cats. Ruby has received a scholarship to attend Dog University in Reston, VA where she is brushing up on her obedience skills. In addition, she is learning appropriate doggie social etiquette, and that not all dogs want to play when she wants to play. She is currently attending onsite classes and will graduate around the first week of July. Come meet Ruby and see what great things she has learned and you could also have the opportunity to be part of her training too.
Ruby is very well behaved for a teenager. She is solidly house trained, comes when called and knows sit and down. She tends to stay close when outside, though she hasn't been tested in an unfenced area or with distractions. She loves water, chasing (but not always retrieving) balls, leaping into the air after bugs, and chewing on her Kong type toys. She's very good about not chewing inappropriate items, but will need to have safe, durable chews available. Ruby is great in her crate and rides well in a car. She is learning to stay off the furniture and to walk nicely on a leash.
Ruby is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations.
